The Quest and Venture, two of the latest additions to the National Geographic-Lindblad fleet, are the first expedition ships ever built from scratch in the U.S. These fully stabilized, nimble vessels were designed to meet the precise needs of National Geographic’s unique expeditions. They feature the latest navigation technology and control systems to minimize their environmental footprint.

With diesel-electric propulsion and Techsol Marine’s power management system (PMS), the National Geographic Quest and Venture are ready for the future. All of the ships’ electricity comes from batteries, fuel cells, and other emission-free power sources. In addition, their electric motors and variable-frequency drives (VFDs) are extremely reliable.
